DTRAC
Disaster Tracking Recovery Assistance Center
Background
After the devastating Tsunami December in 2004, a USA Peace Corp team was sent to survey the Tsunami-affected areas to determine need and to help coordinate the Non-Profit organizations that were flooding in to the communities. After this project was wrapped up, the Thai Government asked if the Peace Corp individuals could stay on and finish their good work. One of these people, Saundra Schimmelpfennig then teamed up with Johannes Egger and Chantalle Lacroix to create DTRAC.

Overview
DTRAC's goal was to coordinate and assess communities to prevent duplication of efforts or gaps in aid. DTRAC would capture important information and data, segment it by relevance, location and sector and then disseminate it in the form of newsletters, meetings and reports.

Research Projects
In addition to the work above, DTRAC was also commissioned by various agencies to survey the six Tsunami-affected provinces, compile data and write up their findings.

The following reports were submitted:

Child-TRAC
Child-TRAC began as a division of DTRAC called C-TRAC but eventually became self sufficient, registering itself separately as a sister organization.
